Cryogenic tank

Development of a biological culture conditioning system, which must be maintained in a closed environment at very low temperature (-273°C)

The process' innovation is the retention foam located inside the tank (made of glass) that stabilizes nitrogen in its capillaries.

To preserve the double-walled tank from any damage, the work was firstly to size the binding elements (clipping and locking) and secondly to improve the outer envelope's shock resistance.

The stiffness of some parts was optimized to sufficiently absorb energy without causing violent contacts with the tank's glass walls due to large displacements.
